Weaving Memory: How to Weave your Photos into a Keepsake! Beginner Friendly

$40.00

Create a one-of-a-kind keepsake collage, perfect for yourself or as a heartfelt gift for a friend, family member, or loved one this Valentine's season. In this hands-on, beginner friendly class, we'll transform meaningful photographs into a woven artwork that blends memory, texture, and storytelling while introducing you to the fundamentals of weaving.

You'll learn the basics of warp and weft and explore plain weave techniques while discovering how woven paper collages connect to traditional textile weaving. Through cutting, layering, and weaving photographs together, you'll create a brand-new image full of your creativity.

I'll share examples of woven photo collages I've created, including pieces made from my parents' wedding photos intertwined with my mom's bouquet, collages of pink roses woven together, and a piece inspired by textures and colors from my favorite beach. These examples will help spark ideas and show the endless creative possibilities of this process.

By the end of class, you'll leave with a finished woven photo collage and a new creative skill you can continue exploring at home.

Skills Covered:

• Warp vs. Weft

• Plain Weave

• Collage & Composition

Required Age: 13+, with an adult
