Intro to Machine Sewing
This is our fundamental machine sewing course, designed for complete beginners or those who need a comprehensive refresher. In this class, you’ll gain strong foundational skills to set yourself up for success in your machine sewing practice. This course has been comprehensively designed to give you the knowledge and skills you need to begin your machine sewing journey, and our encouraging, knowledgeable instructors are here to help you succeed. The project for this class is to create a handmade “book” of different techniques and stitches for you to keep.
You will learn:
the parts of a sewing machine
what tools you’ll need
how to prepare the machine for sewing
how to sew a straight seam
different types of fabric and when to use them
different stitches and when/how to use them
how to fix mistakes
sewing room safety
how to give your project a professional finish

Materials: All materials will be provided.
Required Skills/Knowledge: NONE. This course is designed for complete beginners.
