$35.00

Come learn about tatting! A popular handicraft of the mid-1800s, tatting is a unique method of creating a strong shuttle-made lace from thread.

In this single, standalone class you will gain experience with the basics of this uncommon lace making practice. Expect to leave class having begun or finished a small snowflake and be provided with ways to expand the project as you develop your skills.

In this class, we will be celebrating the seasonal weather by making snowflakes! These simple motifs can be adapted to create garlands, ornaments, or other decorative details with possible applications being covered as we work. We will focus on developing basic skills while creating a small six-ring flake with the option of adding on further in and beyond the class.

  • How to select thread to use

  • Making double stitches

  • Creating rings

  • Creating chains

  • Attaching rings and chains together with picots
