This five-part series of classes will take you from complete beginner to confident knitter. You will learn foundational concepts and skills by knitting a series of coasters using different techniques in progressing difficulty. We will then finish the class by knitting a hat as our final project. By the end of the class you will have a strong understanding of foundational concepts and the skills to complete many beginner and beginner+ level knitting patterns. In this class, you will learn:

  • the two foundational knitting stitches

  • how to read a pattern

  • how to begin your knitting project (casting on)

  • yarn 101

  • changing yarn

  • binding off

  • how to end your project and give it a professional finish

  • all about gauge and how to make projects that will fit

Why learn with us?

  • Small Class Sizes: Our knitting and crochet classes are capped at 4 students, so every learner gets individual attention and help.

  • Supplemental Learning: You will receive a handout at every class that has the pattern we covered in class, supplemental pattern recommendations for additional practice, and a link to video playlists that show the skills we covered that lesson - so you won’t get lost after you go home!
