This Machine Sewing Basics course is designed for beginners who have taken our Intro to Machine Sewing course, or those who have basic understanding of how to operate a sewing machine and sew a straight seam. In this class, you’ll continue to build strong foundational skills and concepts for your machine sewing practice, such as the right side/wrong side of fabric, seam allowance, how to make turns, top stitching, pressing, and more. This course has been designed to build your machine sewing skills, and our encouraging, knowledgeable instructors are here to help you succeed. All materials for this class are included, and you’ll go home with a completed bookmark.

Sewing machines are available for use for an additional fee. If you’d like to use one of our machines, click here to add the machine rental listing to your cart. You’ll need to purchase both this listing and the machine rental listing in order to use one of our machines for the class.

Required Skills/Knowledge: This course is designed for those who can operate a sewing machine and sew a straight seam.

Skills/Concepts Taught: Right Side/ Wrong Side, Seam Allowance, Turning Corners, Pressing, Top Stitching, and more.

Registration deadline: July 16

Materials: ALL MATERIALS WILL BE PROVIDED.

Class must meet a minimum enrollment of 3 students in order to run. If you register for the class and the class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will be refunded to your original form of payment.
